US Foreign Aid by raun US Foreign Aid by raun
There are countless things I admire about America. But US Foreign Policy and Foreign Aid is not one of them. Contemporary perceptions of words like solidarity, humanity, diversity and not least compassion, are morbidly distorted from the original meaning of the words. How you’ve treated citizens in Cuba, Vietnam, Korea, Guatemala, Pakistan, Iraq et cetera et cetera is simply horrifying. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I checked up on a word in my dictionary:

Aid : intr. & tr.v., aid•ed, aid•ing: To help or furnish with help, support, or relief.

Translations:

Nederlands (Dutch): hulp(middel), helper, helpen, bevorderen

Français (French): aider, aide, auxiliaire, moyen

Deutsch (German):n. - Hilfe, Hilfsmittel v. – helfen

U.S (English):n – Corner them, and crush em like you’d crush a bug..

Commenting wont harm you ;-) (Wink)
Europeans arent saints either. check out my "EU's Foreign Aid" here [link]

 Awesome depiction...
but this topic is a MESS, and not really even worth discussing, unless you're going to discuss a specific topic within this issue.

I began researching and it's quite interesting how many sides there are to this topic. As far as Iraq goes, something had to be done, but we cornered them, and crushed 'em like a bug... well put!
And we definitely went about it the wrong way and didn't really think that one through. Now we're trying to build a government between people who are going to goto civil war, attracting neighboring terrorists and further wrecking their country. Way to go US. The new war of attrition that's going to end terribly for them and put US in further debt.

personally i think if your country has slums and people that cant afford food or a place to live you have no right in sending money overseas to help others, i see pictures on tv of iraq and places that have been hit by war, i drive downtown and i see people that would give anything to even a bombed out stone building to live in and i dont understand how the government can justify sending that money away when its needed here at home. Is it done just to look good in front of other countries? Or is it done to make ourselves feel superior like we have always tried to be here in america? Personally i think its throwing money out there just to look good to the casual eye.

Is that a horse stomping upon us? America is somewhat the trojan horse, come to think of it.

I saw this and couldn't help but snort because God, how true. Great way of getting your message across. I don't know if you were going for a vaguely humorous side to this, but I got a bit of a grin out of it from the overbearing "THUNK - America's here!" kind of feeling. Our motives are good, I think, but we're certainly a bit heavy-handed with the delivery, and that's disappointing.

A note on the composition of the piece - the body parts and gore seem to be a bit bright for the overall tone of the piece. The walls and flag seem to be more muted. Could be just me though. Amazing job with the flag, it looks fantastic.

This is awsome.

As for Europe being the 51st State I think most Americans like to call Canada the 51st state. Indeed I have had Americans tell me that to my face, which is just as ubsurd as Europe, there is no 51st state, America has made it very clear that it as a nation (I specify as a nation, I know not all individual Americans are like this, indeed I have met meany who are very simpathetic to the world at larg,) does not care about the world at larg save to subjugate all other nations. Welcome to new manifest destany.

I dislike how other countries assume all people in the US treat others like crap. I personally make an effort not to treat others poorly.. regardless of their race or where they're from. Please don't label all Americans for something the government does :\

I love this piece, and unfortunately is also very true...

I agree with a lot of what merlotcifer said EXCEPT for the part about Europe being this so-called "51st state" - if there were a 51st state, it would NOT be europe as a whole as there are many countries within europe who are highly opposed to more or less everything the american government does. THE ONLY European country who is currently completely rammed up America's a$$ is the United Kingdom of Great Britain under Prime Minister Tony Blair's rule. If there was a 51st state, Britain would be it (or at least England and Wales anyway - Scotland has much the same standing point as France, and Northern Ireland doesn't really care).

The state of the world is so screwed up, yes people turn to America to make the tough decisions, but a hell of a lot of the time America makes the wrong decision. As a British citizen, I have the highest respect for the United States, and what it stands for, I also love the American people... but the government leaves much to be desired..

thanks for your comment! Yeah, I dont understand why we all turn to America again and again, when all we do in between is bitch about their cowboy behavior. My opinions has become more weak since making this image. Some good things comes out of having such a strong democratic superpower. I just fear that one day, the pro-war/aggression attitude will run wild and we'll be in a lot of 'shit'.

WO WO WO.....lets please not get into America taking over the world...If that was the case then europe would be the 51st state , Kuwait the 52nd and Iraq the 53rd....taking over the world ? Why dont you complain about saddam trying to TAKE OVER Kuwait , him putting his people into wood chippers for disagreeing with him....What about the inhumanity of Tienamen Square where the Chinese tanks ran over its own students for saying the same things you are here.....

The simple fact of the matter is America is about liberty which bleeds freedom and yes freedom does come with a price...US foreign policy may have its ups and downs but lets not forget who the world turns to in times of crisis....And if the US did not do anything the world would say how awful we are......

So true *shakes head* it's a damn shame too. There are so many positive things that the US has stood for..... this unjust war NOT being one of them.

I'm still torn, but I agree - the US Foreign Policy sucks (I'm writing a term paper on just that too).

I'm surprised no one has gotten a chess board and put a lone king with the US flag imposed over it on the chessboard - hell you could even do it with a R.I.S.K. board...

but no I'm not cynical...

I completely agree with you here! America has become a country all about taking over the world. I live in America, I hate politics, and how the government treats other citizens of other countries and sometimes it's own is horrifying!

As for the deviation--it kicks ass! Well done!

I AM an American, and I find this brilliant. It really effectively portrays the casual brutality of American foreign relations as conducted by the Republican establishment here. This is gory and horrific, but so is the truth - kudos to you for baring it in such a gripping fashion... This is potent, powerful, and unrelenting, in all the ways it should be.
