comment slightly detatched from the image

But have you ever had one of those strange experiences where wildlife (I mean really wild, the kind that would never ever come within a mile from a human being) suddenly approach you as if it was tame? It has happened to me a couple of times, this sunday it happened again. We were walking along the beach, when I see this rare seabird (I dont even know its name, because I've never seen one before) swimming around maybe 30 feet from the shore. I tell my girlfriend to take a look at it, because I thought it was cute how extremely fat it was (practically an orb with feet). So we stop and stare at this bird. Suddenly it swam directly into us, stepped up on the beach on weak legs, and let me pick it up! It was obviously weak and fatigued, so while warming it in my hands, I started walking back towards our car to give the bird some fresh water. It was parked about 45 minutes away. The bird was just sitting there in my hands, looking to both sides, never moving its legs or trying to get away. After 30 minutes walk, the bird suddenly flapped its wings for about 2 seconds, then it died, instantly.. Right there in my hands.. I might be very sentimental, but I found this experience to be both amazingly beautiful and really sad. It reminded me of my own fear of dying alone.. Animals dont really know about that kind of fear, I know.. or I was told.. or I hope so..

sad story..
the same happened with me half a year ago..
my cat got sick, it happened in like 1 hour.. we decided to take it to the animal doctor to see what's wrong with him.. we lifted him and he looked at me and started to leave that sound of cats (don't know how it's said in english, i guess you know what i'm talking about).. he was saying something i guess.. i touched him, he looked at me for the last time and then he just layed down and died.. it happened in like 20 seconds, he seemed to have all his energy.. and then just fell down after saying something..
it was really sad :( i'm almost crying now :(
however, as i noticed from my cats, and in general, animals usually go away from home when they have to die.. maybe that animal wanted to feel some affection his last moments of life...

nice picture!

oo i love this one too! the people look like ghosts or something, very eery. i really like this. as for your story - wow...that is amazing and really sad :(. i don't know what to tell you, i have never had anything like that happen before. though, i would probably take it as a sign. not sure what it means for you, though keep your chin up in life there is death and it was amazing how some animals seem to know that sometimes.

I had that happen to me with a crow, while I was holding him he died in my arms. It is such a sad experience to feel the life drain out of that beautiful bird, but I was glad I was holding him when it happened. I hope it gave him some comfort.
BTW I love your pic, what a great spot.
