Since this is not a photograph according to the omnipotent admin ^devart, I'm submitting it here. Because it is kind of fun to have your slightly edited photos degraded to photomanipulation status, while the frontpage is covered with 'photos' which has been cloned, dodged, airbrushed & softened to perverse degrees. In a way, this is a portrait of the high and mighty ^devART. Hovering above me, seeing what I do not see. Always knowing so much better that dialogue is not even needed anymore. Sieg Heil!

It is not the simple statement of facts that ushers in freedom; it is the constant repetition of them that has this liberating effect. Tolerance is the result not of enlightenment, but of boredom.

wow. smukt! de her brunede stige-billeder får mig til at tænke på at par Tom Waits pladecovers - surrealistiske og lidt rustne. stille og alligevel overvældende på grund af livet i skyerne.
superflot.

Fix your mind on what brilliant Alice-something said earlier. She is absolutely right, imho.

Old Russian Proverb:
"The tail of a fox will show, no matter how hard he tries to hide it."

In this particular case, I think that the excellence of your work speaks for itself, no matter what category or label some one else tries to put on it.

Those are just my 2 rubles.

Why do admins decide where art goes anyway?

I mean, yeah if someone places a picture of a dog under astrophotography, I can see why admins move it.
But if YOU, the photographer, know you did not manipulate a photo to the extent where it MUST be classified as photomanipulation, why do they get to move it? Isn't that like...art dictatorship??!!?

Anyway. Sorry for that little rant. :faint:
Great job.

Kudos to you for taking a stand on this Lars - the whole process of deciding where a piece goes (in regards to the ability of the admins) shouldn't be as subjective as it is

I totally agree. There is no successful photo today that didn't go through any post-processing. The only difference between those photos which go into Photography and those which have to go into Manipulation seems to be how "realistic" the photo looks. But if I put a lot of work into a concept and photograph, I don't want it to go under among all those stock-manips only because I've post-processed it to match my imagination.

I think there should be different categories for post-processed photographs and phomanipulations made out of stock. The difference between those is bigger than the difference between modern photos and unedited photos.

Unfortunately, I'm not established enough to be taken seriously when I propose it :(

Photo or Photomanip, it's a fantastic image and you, as a professional artist, know which category you feel is best for it. I will agree that there are a lot of abuses to the photography categorization system here on DA but those images are usually easily scene as such. Based on the level of your work, I trust your artistic judgement when it comes to these categories, as should the admins.

The concept is brilliant (not the devart admin sucks concept, but the "one step further" concept). The bright, ragged clouds kind of look like heaven and give it a spiritual feel for me. Sorry the admin is giving you so much trouble about it. :(
